Welcome Back, YC.

The Rise and Fall of YC

419 had an interesting surprise last Friday when a long lost member of 419 decided to join the ranks of 419 again. The pioneer of the DT technique and the co-author of the “Sexy and Solid” technique, YC decided to test his mettle in 419 once again. Little did he know that there were surprises waiting for him. Yes, long and deep seated hatreds were waiting to be awakened in the hearts of 419 members Pip and Raz after what YC99 had did to them in the past. For Pip, revenge was everything when YC had defeated him on a 1 v 1 SC match in the past. What made Pip to the extent of being so spiteful was the fact that YC refused to give him a chance to redeem his honor again.

But what about Raz? Raz was just waiting for his chance to add one more point to his tally against YC. Legend foretold a battle of gigantic proportions in 419 ages ago where Raz defeated YC in a 1 v 1 game of “NARUTO”. It was different from Pip situation though in this case. In contrast with Pip’s situation, Raz was actually behind in terms of the number of 1 v 1 won. However, upon defeating YC , Raz refused to duel with YC again to make sure that he doesn’t forget his defeat. Eager to make sure that YC remember his bitter defeat, Raz had to ensure that YC will remember this battle as well.

It is no wonder that careful planning was undertaken by Raz and Pip to make sure that they stayed in the same team for a match in “Huntress”. The game started off in the lunary landscape of Huntress with Pip at 7 (Terran), YC at 5 (Zerg), GAME at 3 (Terran) and Raz at 1 (Protoss). Thinking that this was a normal game of SC, YC took some time to familiarize himself with what was long forgotten. It was most fortunate that he had chosen the race which he last played SC with. Retracing back old memories was rather sweet to his liking when he remembered the good ol days where he dominated SC with his mutalisks. To properly reach the build order of his mutalisk strategy, he had to divert his opponents attention first though. Microing his zerglings to the front of his opponents base, YC began taunting Raz.

*Cluck* * Cluck* said the yellow baby chicks to the Protoss Zealots.

Little did YC know that the mere sight of a taunt from him would be a sign of bloodlust for Raz. Also, while YC was taunting him, Raz’s forces had grown substantially. “Ah, fresh meat” thought Raz. Praying that YC would think that his feint was working and hopeful that his BNET connection would not be terminated, Raz selected every single troop in his base to charge at YC’s troops. “CHARGE!!!!!” he typed in his screen. The word charge not only gave a morale boost of confidence to his troops, but it also signaled to his teammate Pip to attack YC together.

"Charge!!!!!"

YC saw that his plan had been seen through when he saw that Raz’s zealots were running towards him. Zerglings that were meant for scouting and taunting the opponents were cut down as though they were made out of butter. In a state of panic, YC did the impossible: retreat. The zerglings immediately scampered towards their hatcheries hoping to find refuge from the charging Zealots. Scurrying into the creep, the zerglings thought that they had found refuge from Raz’s zealots. However, the sight of a dozen blood lusted Zealots and marines suddenly appeared in YC’s base entrance. “Die YC! Die” laughed Raz maniacally.

The Zealots of Raz charges towards YC's base...

The zealots were busy dishing out their long seated hate towards YC’s base while Pip’s marines were busy providing support fire towards any troops that came towards the Zealots. The level of spitefulness at that time for Raz and Pip was tremendous as long awakened feelings of hate awakened. Pleased that their efforts were paying off, Raz and Pip decided to let one single structure stand. But this was not for mercy, but to make sure YC saw his teammate, GAME, fall.

I know 2 people who will start their Monday morning with a smile this week.....

The Rise and Fall of GAME

At this point, special mention needs to be given to GAME for bringing down a platoon of troops consisting of zealots and marines prior to his fall.

The first wave of troops consisted of nothing but Zealots and marines

The second wave of troops consisted nothing but marines. Notice the amount of blood at the floor and the "disappearance" of the Zealots from the mini map. Notice also that the marines are still standing after 2 waves of attacks from Pip and Raz.........

Druggy Goes To WCG Malaysia 2008!

I have returned! Free from the shackles of work (albeit temporary only) I am now able to update this blog which has been neglected for so long.

The first question I ask myself is "What would be worthwhile to update on this blog?" Looking through the 419 replay archives so gratiously provided by Raz- 6 megabytes in total, I found that there were plenty of good replays (mostly featuring GAME and Raz in their unstoppable quest for dominance over 419) but I needed one that commensurates with the revival of the blog. It had to be neutral and unbiased. Dismayed, I stopped thinking and headed towards Midvalley Mall in Bangsar. After hours of walking around aimlessly, I caught glimpse of an A3 poster . The title of the poster? - "World Cyber Games Malaysia 2008, Midvalley Convention Centre, 15 to 17 August 2008". What a fortunate turn of events! Now I can tell 419-ers how WCG felt like. Imagine the real, raw and powerful experience of elite Malaysian cyber game players in action!

Surprisingly though, WCG was not really that crowded (even better!). Walking past the entrance, there were people giving out flyers for online multiplayer games and auction sites. What would have really attracted some 419-ers were the cosplayers handing out the competition entry forms - Blue haired Samsung models (Sorry fellas, no photography allowed here). To entice more contestants in the competiton, they were handing out a free stress ball to the first 500 entries - I manage to get 2 : ).

Further down the convention centre was a plethora of gadgets and computer peripherals. Pip would have loved this event for there were computer peripherals of many kinds. The main attraction was none other than a driving seat for an F1 car (for PC). Guitar Hero was also shown at the convention centre and visitors were allowed 5 minutes worth of demo. Speaking of guitars, there was also a live band playing at the background.

But on to the main event, which was none other than multiplayer games. The main hall of the convention was equipped with loads of PCs apparatus. Yet, I was a bit curious when some of the PC's were without keyboards. The answer soon came with a player carrying his very own customizable keyboard. -_-. I arrived just in time to see who was the winner for the semi finals of SC. Apparently, SC is still pretty popular - a total of 128 players out of 132 players participated.

Well, what a memorable event. To further commemorate my visit to WCG, I manage to get a souveneir and several memoribilias. The host was kind enough to provide more freebies too - : )

The Battle for The Supremacy of 419

"You and Pip can NEVER push with Siege Tanks "

-The Great Akira MikE-

In the midst of the pandemonium of my peak work period, I finally found solace to update this blog. Much have since changed since the dormancy of the Blog . GAME and Raz are now battling for supremacy over Starcraft while Pip and myself had tried to remain neutral. The balance of power has since shifted with GAME struggling to remain in power while Raz slowly growing in terms of gosuness. Worse yet, Pip remains in denial over the spate between GAME and Raz. Honor was no longer relevant for Pip - what mattered now was just protecting one's self.

Me? I remain silent now at the moment despite accusations of spitefulness hurled at me. What remained my interest now are more towards how GAME, Raz and Pip will turn on each other. I remain observant in my replays. Interestingly, I notice several new strategies being deployed by the three powerhouses. GAME still remains the all-rounder jack of all trades, Raz has stopped his nuking strategy and has started training by watching Gomutv.net (or was it Gosutv.net?) and Pip has started using his fake, harmless self to inflict massive surprise counter attacks.

Yet, time and time again I ask myself these questions:-

  • Has 419 become a battle ground for supremacy for GAME, Pip and Raz?
  • Will there ever be peace between the powerhouses?
  • Ultimately, which house will win?
  • Will I survive the onslaught of all three powerhouses?
Friday nights will no longer remain the same again.

The Way of the Spiteful Force

The Way of the Spiteful Force (TWofSF) is the forbidden arts which can only be accessed by people who thrive on spitefulness.

The Way of the Spiteful Force was founded by a Druggy, also known as Turtle King aka Smart Storm aka Friday.

It is unknown when exactly WotSF was founded and scholars generally agree that the seeds were sown during the days of 419. Legend has it that his potential for spitefulness awoken the day he won a one hour game with a single nuke which decimated an army of hydras.

It seems that after Druggy travelled back to M'sia, his spitefulness increased astronomically. Some historians believe that his forays into creative accounting has helped unlocked his inner spite. Some believe that he is very close to achieving spiteful nirvana.

Whatever it is, Druggy's SC has improved by leaps and bounds, whether fueled by secret practice or spite. It is whispered in dark passages that the more spiteful Druggy gets, the better his micro and macro is.

May Aiur have mercy on those who draw his ire.

The Games That 419- ers Play (aside Starcraft)

[Note: This will be the last post for me until August as work begins to pile up]

Counter – strike (a.k.a CS)

CS is a game that brings out the skills of certain 419-ers. In CS, players can choose between playing as a terrorist or a counter-terrorist, each trying to kill the opposing side, saving hostages or arming/disarming bombs. For a few 419-ers, their elite skills are activated when they receive their favorite weapons:-

The Heavy Assault Commando, GAME’s favorite weapon: the AK-47 & a knife

The most affordable machine gun, the AK-47 demonstrates its usage even more in the hands of GAME. With his favorite technique of “Spray and pray”, GAME utilizes short bursts of bullets and the recoil action from his AK-47 to bring down people with ease. Two outcomes occasionally happens under a GAME confrontation : players suffer massive loss of life or death.

But being a spiteful person he is, GAME isn’t just confined to one single weapon. Whenever there is a single player left behind in any game, the AK-47 is tossed aside to make way for his personal favorite weapon, the knife. If it is anything that GAME dislikes, its campers. Occasionally, a cry of joy is normally heard when GAME successfully knives a camper.

The Mobile Artillery Sniper, FF favorite weapons: the AWP and the Deagle

One of the most expensive gun in CS. The downside of this weapon is that players will suffer a lack mobility in the game as the AWP is practically a sniping weapon. Victory is virtually guaranteed whenever FF obtains this weapon. Sometimes, even before a player of the opposing side has a chance to buy items, they are met with a headshot from FF’s AWP – they never knew what hit them until a thundering sound is heard.

To further improve his performance in CS, FF has devised a way to compensate for the short coming of the AWP. Tossing aside the basic secondary weapon in CS, FF has opted for the classic dessert eagle as his secondary weapon. While the AWP is famous for long distance combat, the “d-eagle” provides players with a bit more mobility. On average, 3 shots from the d-eagle is enough to bring down a player (that is, if he or she survives, FF’s AWP snipes).

It is no wonder FF is 419’s MVP for CS….

The One Man’s Army, Pip’s favorite weapon: the machine gun (M60)

This is the worse kind of opponent any CS player will face. Whenever Pip gets this weapon, there will be bullets flying everywhere. Players will have a hard time focusing their aim with Pip’s rapid fire shots hitting them. However, these are not your ordinary random shots though. Every single bullet has its own predetermined course as it leaves the magazine chamber. Often, players will find it difficult to manevour once they are hit. The quick succession of bullets one after another makes it difficult for players to move let alone run.

The only hope surviving this onslaught, perhaps would be having either FF or GAME on the other opposing side.

The Campers – Druggy, Raz and YC.

The tent is the most essential part for campers.

The most peaceful players in CS. While GAME, FF and Pip are offensive type of players, Druggy, Raz and YC are typically your defensive players. Not skilled with any weapons, these campers have only one kill: camp. Pressure begins to build when the game is about to end with either GAME, FF or Pip is around. If it is anything, the worse death a camper can face in CS is to be knifed by an offensive player.

Chu chu rocket

Ah, good old chu chu rocket. Chu chu rocket is a game about mices - yes, you heard me right mices trying to escape to Space from giant big space cats. This was the first ever 4 player game that 419 members ever played together on a Sega Dreamcast. Most memorable moment of the game was GAME trying to stop Raz from dominating in Chu chu rocket. I mean, how spiteful can someone get?

Ico

This has to be the worse game ever for me. Basically, players just go around controlling an unknown character called Ico with horns and at the same time, controlling a helpless girl. Spread around an entire fortress (or was it a castle?), Ico tries to stop dark shadows from dragging the girl into darkness.

The annoying part about the game is that Ico keeps on yelling “Pom pom” which is a constant irritant to me (Try imagining sleeping in the night with the sound in your head). Worse still, the graphics and music were so blatantly dull. There were no power ups, just annoying puzzles and people trying to click on everything to see if there was a way to solve the puzzle. GAME, Raz, YC and Pip however, were obsessed with the game. After struggling for many days with the game, poor ol Ico lost his horns and the game ended.

Naruto

The above pic is a diagramatical depiction of how the battle between Raz and YC went...

Naruto was a game based on the famous anime, Naruto. In Naruto, players have a choice on either going for the campaign mode or play the mini games that came with it. But what made Naruto really popular with 419-ers was the 1 v 1. It was a chance to show off what elite skills you have with the joypad.

It was a sad day for 419 when one of its member, Raz decided to return back to Malaysia to further pursue his career. To celebrate his farewell, it was proposed by Raz that a 1 v 1 in Naruto with YC be held . Initially, YC was leading 2 points ahead while Raz was trying to catch up with him. Later, after a few errors made by YC, there was a tie between both Raz and YC. The “last” game ended with a victory to Raz. Now, YC dreams in hope of challenging Raz for a rematch. The flames of spitefulness has yet to be unleashed…..

Protoss Is Power (a.k.a PIP)

Part I: A Slumbering Giant Awakens….

The constant ringing of the phone did not stop.

Annoyed by the noise in his handphone, Pip wearily grabbed his mobile phone from his table. Groggily, he answered the phone.

“Pip, wtf are you? Its 9.30 now and we are all waiting for you” asked Raz.

“Crap. I didn’t get any messages about the game time. Will come in right now” replied Pip.

Fortunately, his keyboard and mouse were all wireless made it easier for him to log on to his computer. But the problem was not the keyboard and mouse but his grogginess. “Urgh”. Yes, Pip had woke up with a painful headache and it seemed to be getting worse when he was suddenly disturbed by Raz’s call.

“Damn. This hurts. I need a drink.” thought Pip.

As he moved towards the kitchen, he quickly rustled into his fridge trying to find some liquids to help ease the pain in his head. To his relief, he saw about half a dozen of 100 plus isotonic can drinks. Without a moment’s notice, he gulped down the contents of a bottle.

“Ah yeah…some stuff” thought Pip.

However, while the 100 plus helped, it did not help very much. “Need something stronger…”. If he was in Melbourne right now, Pip would have hopped into the nearest 7 eleven at his place to get some Columbian Cola. Trouble is, he was not in Melbourne at the moment.

“Gwah!!!” Pip yelled. The pain was unbearable now. It felt like a Protoss Psiblade searing through his head a thousand times Pip needed something stronger. Fast. There were no other drinks stronger than what was needed by him. He needed a drink that could help suppress the pain for a longer period of time.

Suddenly, his eye glimpsed on a brown like powdery form substance stored in a bottle. Despite having constant pains in his head, Pip could read the ingredient contents in the bottle clearly.

“WARNING: CONTAINS CAFFEINE” he read aloud.

As he placed the bottle down, another object caught his eye. Smashing through the box with his barefists, he took what appeared to be no more bigger than a slip of paper but contained many many small little tablets.

“FOR INSTANT RELIEF OF PAIN AND HEADACHES” Pip read again.

An idea suddenly came to his mind. It might just work he thought. Having experimented on many different concoctions in his lifetime already, Pip ripped off the coffee bottle cover and peeled off the plastic film which contained the tablets.

He then took a can of 100 plus and poured its contents into a cup. This was then followed up with a spoonful of caffeine and 2 aspirin tablets. The cup then sizzled, and with it, the promise to power. Without a moment of hesitation again, Pip dranked the contents of the bottle. It tasted bitter due to the caffeine but the neutralizing effect of the aspirin and 100 plus made it easier for him to consume its contents.

Suddenly, Pip’s world was filled with bright, bright colors. He realized that his senses had just been heightened. The effects were miraculous to behold for Pip as the throbbing headache was no longer in his head. “ Much better” he thought. He then scurried back to his room.

Part II - The Wrath of Pip.

Game I – The Hunt Begins….

Game 1 started off with Huntress, a map well known by Pip. However, he still felt the adrenalin rushing through his head. It will take some time to get used to it, but nevertheless Pip felt confident of handling anything that comes in his way. Just to be certain, he messaged his teammate Druggy to lead the way first before he could recollect himself properly.

Its was not more than 5 minutes into the game, the sounds of dark templars could be heard charging into Druggy’s base:-

GAME's Assassins slowly moves in for the kill....

While one of GAME's assassin silently kills of a poor helpless worker, another moves in for the kill. The marines are helpless to do anything as the the turret's line of sight is much lower.

Stealthily, another dark templar moves into Druggy's base. Making use of the open crevice, the dark templar slowly slides into the active mineral patch. The SCVs can only wait and see what horrors await them.

“Predictable” thought Pip, as he steadily loaned to Druggy a Protoss observer to Druggy’s base. The dark templars met a quick and painless death as they were gunned down by bullets. Templars were seen vanishing into thin air as their life source were pierced by machine guns. The tide of the battle was turned by a weaponless observer in Druggy’s base.

With the aid of the observer, the line of sight of the marines are now magnified. All that remained now is launch a counter attack.

"Druggy you okay?" messaged Pip.

"Yeah, thanks for the assist." replied Druggy.

"You just sit tight and provide the cover fire. I'll deal with Raz (Zerg)" messaged Pip.

"Okay." replied Druggy.

Selecting an elite group of Dragoons and Zealots, Pip divided the troops into 2 batches. One for taking out Raz, while the other to keep GAME's DT busy. The first platoon which consisted of Dragoons and marines rampaged towards Raz's base taking out anything that stood in their way.

Behold! The might of Pip's army! The micro of one Zealot just for the sole purpose of taking out the Raz's workers.

At this point of time also, Pip's army that consisted of Zealots were also giving GAME's DT's a hard time. For the purposes of minimising the damage done by the dark templars, Pip had equipped the Zealots with leg enhancements. The Zealots now moved at an astounding speed making it difficult for the dark templars to assasinate them.

The Zealots moved swiftly, making it difficult for the dark templars to assasinate them.

Seeing that his teammate had just been crippled also, GAME had no choice but to quit the game. Pip was pleased with this victory as he single handedly defeated GAME and Raz. The might and speed of power was on his side today. Dirty tactics or dishonorable ones are no match for the wrath of power and speed.

Morale of the Post: NEVER, NEVER ever disturb a slumbering Tauren....

Slaughter of 14th March 2008

Last Friday I got pawned. I'm used to getting owned by Druggy, Raz & Pip but Friday, it was total pawnage. Rushes didn't work. Always got pushed back with minimal loses on the other side. Camping failed. I got massacred by drops twice and once was easily denied my expansion. It was as if Druggy knew my moves before I even did them. The feeling of hopelessness as I knew I was overmatched.

Establishing a ground force requires putting pressure on your opponent by Druggy's defence was just too good and the timing of Pip's drops were perfect. It got to the point where Druggy was toying with my teammate and unleashing his reaver drops.

It is interesting to see how the rest of 419 has gained in skill while I still play the same SC as in 2001. Looking back at Druggy's old SC tactics of just pure micro to now being able to play micro & macro so easily (solid & sexy), it just astounds me. Not to mention the one game where Pip's terran was the one playing solid while Druggy was sexy. (that sounded so wrong)

Pip always getting the terran curse has truly made his terran formidable. Raz being the 2v1 expert he is delivered my only win of the night. (Wasn't actually a win for me since I only watched as Raz defeated two by himself) Feel bad for Raz losing for teaming with me many times. Oh well, let's see whether he can improve his nuke count against Druggy next week. Anyone keeping count?

The Secret Origin of 419

(Note: This is the unofficial version of 419, the original version has since been lost through the passage of time and old age. Also, this version has been “spiced” up a bit to give it a little more zest : ) )

On 419….

Ever wonder how did the title “419dunbesospiteful.blogspot” came about? The numerical figure of “419” was derived from the place of residence of the greatest players of Starcraft ever assembled in the 419 circle (FF, GAME, KV, RAZ and YC ). In this place, computers (both hardware and software) and networks were always connected. Occasionally, 419 players can be seen honing their skills against one another and seeking advice from the Grand Master of SC, KV. In some instances, legendary replays were born and battles (now lost– if only there were some way to retrieve them) were fought.

But Starcraft was not the only game played in 419. Other games such as Warcraft and Counterstrike were also played. The lead players of Counterstrike in 419 were none other than GAME and FF and this was proven with their skill in the AK-47 and knife. In reality, there also exist a secret competition between both FF and GAME - He who uses a knife and kills Druggy most of the time will be regarded as the champion of Counterstrike.

Unfortunately also, 419 is not without its secrets. Some interesting rumors and secrets to note about 419:-

. there exists a secret underground trading activity on storage media and their content;
· there exist a secret cache of storage media of multiple “genres”.
· in the highest level of 419 residence, there existed a single room whose purpose is unknown;
· there will always be a condensed milk container in Raz’s room, for some unknown reason;
· a suspected arsonist was suspected to be hiding in the vicinity of 419; and
· every single 419 resident seem to consume coke as opposed to water –empty bottles drained off their coke were always lying around 419.

So it came to be that 419 was a place where the most brilliant of brilliant in SC were assembled. It was a place where great philosophers and players of SC gather and discuss tactics and gameplays. With each passing day, the 419 residents grow stronger as their skills and knowledge being imparted to them by the wonders of technology transfer. Today, while the 419 residents remain separated by geography, still remained the most powerful players in the 419 circle due to their influence, skill and wealth.

On spitefulness….

It all began a long, long time ago, in Melbourne, on a Friday night where a group of friends were on their way to have their usual food and drinking session. Druggy, Freefrag, Fish, GAME, Pip, Psiblade and YC were all waiting at the intersection of Bourke Street and Swanston Street (better known as the “Nike” corner). In the usual outings, punctuality had to be observed due to the extreme cold weather. The last person who arrives for the outing will usually be penalized by deciding on a place to eat. The trouble with living in the city was deciding on a place to eat.

To further instill discipline among members of the outing, it was further decided that the last person was late who was late for more than 30 minutes, will be the One who would actually “chia” for all food in the usual outing. Such rules proved to be futile however, as the last person would always suggest a common place most frequented by 419 members.

The following are excerpts from a conversation between members of the outing:-

“Looks like we kena J*hn by Raz again” mentioned GAME.

“Yar. IT students are like that one la….” replied Pip.

“How come you are still early Pip? Aren’t you an IT student too?” asked Druggy curiously.

“Eh, no le….I do Commerce too. So technically, I am not really an IT student” replied Pip.

"That fella already 25 minutes late already, another 5 more minutes we get a free dinner" said Psiblade

A moment later, Raz suddenly arrives from a Tram.

“Last one decide….”told GAME to Raz

With a smile, Raz told the members of the 419 where they should have their outing. Everyone responded with a sense of frustration, as they knew and expected his replies already. Some even clenched their fist hoping to let it fly, but restrained.

As the 419 members sat and feasted, topics of SC replays were brought up.

“Druggy, I can never forget the time you nuked my Hydralisks” told GAME.

“Let it go dude. Its only a single missile, two years already and you still remember that incident?” queried Druggy.

“Yar, don’t be so spiteful” commented Pip.

“I don’t need a drug addict or sleeping Tauren to tell me on this” said GAME.

Till this very day, GAME still remembers the day Druggy nuked him in a 1 v 1 game of SC. Even though seven years has since lapsed, the memory of having an insignificant SC player nuclear-ing his whole squadran of Hydralisk remained in GAMEs memory. GAME remained psychologically traumatized in playing 1 v 1s. Still shaken over the sounds of Hydralisks screaming for their lives, GAME now seeks revenge on Druggy on every single opportunity he has on 2 v 2 games. He further instigates 1 v 1s also every now and then just so that he can further analyse Druggy’s gameplay.

This blog was created to ever remind GAME not to be spiteful again by administering and re-living the horrors of spitefulness through replays.

And thus,
www.419dunbesospiteful.blogspot.com was born…..

Victory, Thee Name Is GAME! - Part I

-Prologue: G.A.M.E-

In the circle of 419, the title “Friday” is bestowed upon 419 members who achieve the status of playing honorably and godlike in Starcraft (“SC”). On the 8 February 2008, such a title was bestowed upon GAME after successfully defeating every single 419 member in a 2 v 2 match up.

Instead of the usual 9.30 p.m. game that the 419 members usually participate in, SC started rather late - 10.30 p.m. (Note: some members were late for the usual Friday night gatherings as they had “other” matters to attend too). For GAME, this was a mere irritation, as if there was anything that he did not like, it was tardiness. Lighting his cigarette, he sat patiently, thinking of a strategy against those who came in late, namely Druggy, Pip and Raz. “They will pay” he thought. While it was 10.35 p.m. for some people, it seemed like 1.30 a.m. for GAME. Daylight saving was not at his side at the moment, but nevertheless GAME was ready.

His screen suddenly flickered, his Microsoft Network (“MSN”) Messenger suddenly flashed. Pip had finally logged in but there was still no sign of Druggy and Raz. “Ccb, where are these people???”. GAME’s blood slowly began to boil. Eager for bloodshed, he knew that he had to calm himself down, for steadiness and a cool head are the key to Victory.

-Chapter 2: P.I.P-

Pip hurried to his computer, the mere thought of keeping other 419 members waiting was frightening. He breathed a sigh of relief when he saw that GAME was the only one online. While his MSN showed no signs of activity from GAME, he knew that GAME was furious as no one liked to be kept waiting, especially GAME. Honor dictates that he should message other 419 members also to confirm whether the usual SC outing is still on. A short message suddenly came, and it was Raz telling him that he will be slightly late.

But Pip had an upper hand now. Druggy and Raz does not know what kind of temperament that GAME is having. “I’d best play this according to my situation” he thought. It was imperative to have GAME as an ally now, as opposed to a foe. At the same time, he must not keep Druggy and Raz in the dark. “They must find out about GAME through battle and strategy.” Yes, Pip was an honorable SC player, best he not tell Druggy and Raz about GAME’s temperament – they should find out about this themselves, through battle and honor.

-Chapter 3: Druggy-

Druggy messaged GAME and Pip when he arrived, apologizing over the delay that he caused. He could see that he was late as all the 419 members were waiting. Curiously, Raz was online but no where to be found. Thankfully, GAME was not furious over his delay. He thought that Raz had sent out the messages to inform everyone that the usual SC gathering would be slightly delayed, guess he was wrong.

Druggy knew that he was the weakest member of 419 and no one would take notice of him even though he was absent. He was, how you should say it, just helping out to fill the empty spaces in the Friday night gatherings. Being the weakest member of 419 also has its short comings: Druggy was always the target of GAME’s constant early SC rushes, Pip’s carriers and Raz nuclear launches.

“Ah well, learn through experience, I suppose. Guess I’ll wait and see what’s in store for me”. he thought. Little did Druggy know that he will soon be facing a horrible loss.

-Chapter 4: Raz-

“SC is on at 9.30 p.m.? Didn’t I tell anyone that it was at 10.30 p.m. – 11.00 p.m.?” Raz thought when he received Pip’s message. Despite rushing back from his meeting, Raz was calm. In his college and university days, he had faced all sorts of possible delays until he had gotten used to it (or rather, was he the cause for delay? – please confirm fellow 419-ers). “I need a shower” he thought. Just before he popped to the shower, Raz switched his laptop on (Yes, Raz plays SC with his laptop) and gave his roller ball mouse a twirl, just to make sure everything was in working order. With his dexterous typing, a message was sent out to the 419 members waiting.

Fifteen minutes later (it was like an eternity for the rest of the 419 members). Raz announced his arrival to the rest of the 419 members. Everyone was finally ready.

-Chapter 5: The Skill of G.A.M.E-

The designated game map for the night (and most of the night) was none other than “the Huntress”. In one team, there was GAME and Pip, while the other Druggy and Raz. The game started off terribly for GAME and Pip as they were designated with the Terran race. Druggy had Protoss, while Raz had Zerg. Cursing his misfortune and delay, GAME knew that in this game, he had to rely on one thing that he always had : Skill.

Terran: The most defensive race in Starcraft.

“We have to meet up in the centre Pip” he messaged Pip.

“Ok” Pip replied.

As the Terran troopers were approaching towards the centre, an ambush was sprung by Druggy and Raz. Pip troops were forced to retreat back slightly as Druggy’s zealots rushed towards his troops.

Interception: Druggy halts the advancement of Pip's troops through melee combat.

While Druggy was dealing with Pip’s troops, Raz had to struggle against GAMEs troops. The marines controlled by GAME were rather different. It was as though that each marine had a mind on their own. Wave after wave, the screams of Hydralisks facing gauss rifles and stim packs were heard through out the battle field.

-Chapter 6: Of Might and Magic, Part I-

Mid-game came. Every player in the game was exhausted from micro-ing and macro-ing. The cost of teching up paid for both Druggy and Raz though. Their troops were now equipped with spellcasters such as the Queen and High Templar, capable of demoralizing any opposing force.

The troops of GAME and Pip however, only constituted with marines and siege tanks only.

“How now, brown cow?” queried Pip.

“I am not a brown cow. Looks like we have to…”

A bloodbath frenzy...

A flash suddenly came, breaking the conversation between GAME and Pip and with it, the sounds of marines shrieking in pain. When the cries suddenly died down and GAME realized that he had just been hit by a psi storm. The battlefield was now riddled with corpses of marines and medics. All that was left was the sight of a High Templar running away.

“Damn you, Druggy” he cursed.

Picture of a HT running away....

But trouble did not stop there. Pip was suddenly attacked by Raz’s LEET hydralisk and was forced to evacuate his expansion . The badly damaged command centre was hovering on the battlefield until Raz’s Queen infested it, changing it into an infested command centre.

Before....

After : )

At that particular moment, Pip paused and he muttered the word “Basket”. It was obvious that Raz was trying to toy with him. Nevertheless, Pip remained calm and retreated back to his main.

“GAME, you got a plan? Things are looking rather bleak here” queried Pip while looking at his former command centre hover away.

“Only one chance, defend and buy me some time, Pip” he messaged back.

Taking a deep breath, GAME skillfully selected 3 SCVs to commence constructions of marine barracks. Hitting the “M” key in his existing barracks, he placed 5 marines in his production line while awaiting the remaining three barracks to be finished. “Come on…come on...”

Will GAME's army prevail over Raz's Lurkers?

During this time, GAME mouse clicking action and keyboard typing achieved godlike speed, unseen by the untrained eye. The sounds of keyboard taps were followed by response of the marines coming out from the barracks.

-Chapter 7: Of Might and Magic, Part II-

With a massive army of grunts (i.e. marines), GAME marched towards the centre of huntress. As he marched, he saw two high templars. Once again, the cries of marines can be heard through out Huntress. But this time, it was different. While there were still corpses strewn in the battlefield, GAME army suffered minimal damage. The barracks were still pumping marines and in no time at all, the army of GAME was replenished.

Note: Pic 1: Picture of marines getting slaughtered. Pic 2: Marines and medics slowly being revived again.

At this time, Druggy’s High Templars ran out of mana to cast another psi storm. The marines began to chase the High Templars to Druggy’s base. As High Templars were powerless without any mana, only a small platoon was dispatched to chase the Templars with the rest marching to Raz’s base.

However, as opposed to Druggy, Raz proved to be a powerful adversary. The sunken colonies in Raz's base proved to be extremely useful against a charging enemy.

Raz Tactic 1: Snipers are used to take out key units such as siege tanks.

Raz Tactic 2: Let the sunkens do the work and support troops finish off remaining troops.

-GAME's Descent to Victory-

Druggy and Raz now faced 2 problems. Through massive usage of spells, they lacked the mana now. Further the problem with spell casting was that you can only be at one place at a time. GAME and Pip on the other hand, had an oversupply of troops thanks to the GAME's god speed impulse control. Victory was secured when GAME and Pip began destroying the bases of Druggy followed by Raz's expansions and steam rolling their troops.

Multiple surgical strikes and attacks enabled GAME to secure victory.
